The Prime Minister’s remarks were made during the Extraordinary General Assembly of the Cambodian National Scout Movement at the National Institute of Education on the afternoon of June 17, 2025. The PM said, “I would like to emphasize that Cambodia is involved in this matter (the Cambodia-Thai border). We are lagging behind. We have been very patient for the past few months. In Thailand, both politicians and anti-extremists, sometimes even the army, have issued messages that this area is using a unilateral map. Some say they will cut off electricity, cut off the internet, some say they will build a Cambodia-Thai border fence. Is this professional or not? Cambodia is silent. We are very patient. We do not want to have a problem. Sometimes when we do not speak up, they step on us and say we are unprofessional and accuse us of instigating the problem. ” For the Cambodia-Thailand border dispute, the Cambodian side has chosen a peaceful mechanism for resolution through bilateral negotiations and the International Court of Justice (ICJ). However, the Cambodian army is ready to defend the nation and territorial integrity if any aggression
