Army Region 2 Commander ignores Hun Sen's request for Thailand to not use F-16s August 7, 2025 The Army Region 2 Commander ignores Cambodian Senate President Hun Sen's call for Thailand to not use F-16s, stating Thailand must protect national sovereignty. He insists he never considered assassinating the Cambodian leader, awaits the results of the BHQ spy investigation, and has coordinated with provincial governors to tighten control in all areas. On August 7 at the Royal Thai Army Headquarters, Lieutenant General Boonsin Phadklang, Commander of Army Region 2, gave an interview after receiving reconnaissance drones, clothing, and other necessary supplies from the "Guardians of the Land" Foundation, led by Mr. Pante Puapongphan, to be given to frontline soldiers. He said, "On behalf of the Royal Thai Army, the representative of the Army Commander, and Army Region 2, who is directly involved in the operations, I would like to express my gratitude. "The equipment provided today is essential. We can see that this is modern warfare, and we don't have the time to procure things through the government system. It takes a long time before we get a budget. We received this equipment from the 'Power for the Land' group, the 'Guardians of the Land,' and citizens across the country who have all participated in protecting the nation. "I will quickly deliver these items to the frontline soldiers so they can use them for self-defense, reconnaissance, and protecting Thailand's borders. This is not just a matter for the army, but for all of Thailand. If there is no national security, it will be difficult for the Thai people to live. This is not just a matter for soldiers, but for all Thai people. "I thank the Thai people who are doing things for the nation and the land. I will convey this to the frontline soldiers, letting them know that they have fellow Thai citizens on the home front who are constantly sending them encouragement and necessary equipment. This will greatly lighten the load for our soldiers. I've visited the frontline soldiers, and their morale is high. "In addition, I will coordinate with the units in the area to ask about their needs and what they are lacking. The necessary items are technology and clothing, which are expendable supplies, especially during the rainy season.” When asked if there would be a conclusion from today's General Border Committee (GBC) meeting and what the next steps would be, Lt. Gen. Boonsin expressed his belief that things would improve and end well. When asked how he assessed Cambodia's attitude regarding adhering to the GBC agreements, Lt. Gen. Boonsin said, "In my opinion, the direction seems to be a good one. As for what happens next, we have to wait for General Natthapon Nakpanich, Deputy Minister of Defense acting as Minister of Defense, to announce the full results first. I'm waiting for an official clarification on what was signed." Boonsin reiterated that of the 8 issues and 6 points, he prioritizes the position of Thai soldiers: "Wherever Thai soldiers are right now, that's where they should stay." Other issues, such as the ceasefire, are considered normal things to discuss, and they are already talking about them. He emphasized that frontline soldiers must always be alert and maintain their readiness. The land cannot be controlled by tools; it must be guarded by people. When comparing with Cambodia's attitude, we must keep a close watch like this. Regarding the BHQ forces, or Hun Sen's bodyguard spies, who were caught spying in Thailand in Buriram province, Lt. Gen. Boonsin said, "We must continue to investigate according to the procedures to find out the facts and what they are involved in. "I am not careless in any area, and I have informed all provincial governors, in their capacity as directors of the Internal Security Operations Command or ISOC, to be vigilant and cooperate in watching over things." When asked if the person arrested in Buriram province could be confirmed to be from the BHQ forces, Lt. Gen. Boonsin said, "We are waiting for a clarification from the police. I can confirm that the frontline soldiers have high morale and are ready to protect our national sovereignty because they have the support of the people. "I can confirm that I'm not concerned about the current situation. If we can talk and understand each other, there will be no problems. But if we can't, we are ready to protect our sovereignty," Lt. Gen. Boonsin said. When asked about Gen. Natthapon's statement that Cambodia had shown a certain level of sincerity and whether the army had assessed that sincerity, Lt. Gen. Boonsin said, "We are assessing it, but we are not being careless. However, we must be sincere first." Lt. Gen. Boonsin also mentioned the new barbed-wire fence being installed at the Chong Arn Ma Pass after Cambodia came and cut the fence. "The Cambodians came to create content, and the officers had them leave the area. We have now put up a new barbed-wire fence to protect our base and strengthen the area we control. As for whether these kinds of activities will continue in the future, I don't see it as a problem. We must strictly forbid it. The good thing is they didn't bring any weapons." He admitted that there are still many landmines in the area, especially near the Ta Kwai temple in Phanom Dong Rak district, Surin province. He said they will have to coordinate with Cambodia to clear them. Lt. Gen. Boonsin continued, regarding the case of a severely ill Cambodian soldier with malaria, "I saw it from Cambodian media. It's each side's duty to take care of their own personnel. The Thai side already has field medics, and the district hospitals in each province are ready to provide support. So far, no Thai soldiers have fallen ill." As for the collection of a Cambodian soldier's body, he said, "I saw it when I went to the Phu Makuea base, and I've coordinated with Cambodia to come and collect the body. Cambodia has accepted the request. I can confirm that the Cambodian side must collect it themselves; we will not do it for them, because it affects the air quality on both the Thai and Cambodian sides. However, if they refuse to collect it, we have measures to deal with the smell." When asked about Hun Sen's post asking Thailand not to use F-16s in operations and appealing to the international community not to sell fighter jets to Thailand, Lt. Gen. Boonsin said, "That's our business. He can ask us not to use them, but we will use them to protect our sovereignty." Boonsin added, regarding the news of the assassination plot against Hun Sen and Hun Manet, "That's news that came out of the Cambodian media. We did not carry out any such action.” #ThailandCambodia #ไทยกัมพูชา

In the vast outer regions of our solar system, a tiny icy body named 2015 OU₁₉₄ has captured the attention of astronomers. This mysterious object belongs to a rare group known as Centaurs, icy and rocky hybrids that orbit between Jupiter and Neptune. But what makes this particular Centaur so fascinating is the way it dances in sync with the planet Uranus. For over one million years, 2015 OU₁₉₄ has been locked in a precise 3:4 mean motion resonance with Uranus. That means for every three orbits this icy object makes around the Sun, Uranus completes four. This perfect gravitational rhythm ensures that their orbits remain stable, avoiding chaos or collisions in the vast and chilly reaches of space. The discovery was led by astronomer Daniel Bamberger and his team, who combed through archival telescope data to extend the object’s known orbit to 3.5 years. With this data, they ran simulations showing that this delicate cosmic balance has been holding steady for a million years in the p...

In a stunning medical first, surgeons at the University of Maryland Medical Center have successfully removed a spinal tumor through a patient’s eye socket, redefining the limits of what’s surgically possible. Nineteen-year-old Karla Flores was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive chordoma wrapped around her cervical spine and spinal cord. Traditional surgical routes posed high risks, so the team, led by Dr. Mohamed A.M. Labib, pioneered a groundbreaking "transorbital" method, accessing her spine through the delicate corridor behind her eye. The technique, once used for brain surgeries, had never been applied to the spine until now. Using cutting-edge imaging, anatomical precision, and refined skills honed through cadaver-based research, the team was able to remove the tumor completely while preserving vital neurological functions. No large incisions. No disfigurement. Just a revolutionary path through an unexpected door. Karla, now 20, is cancer-free and on the road to recov...
