Meanwhile, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Civil Service Hun Many also issued a statement expressing his prayer for the victims and condemning the Thai military’s use of live ammunition against Cambodian civilians.

“I am saddened to hear about the clash that occurred in Prey Chan village, which resulted in the death of a Cambodian citizen and left several others injured,” he wrote.

Hun Many said the use of live ammunition against civilians raises serious questions that require clear answers from the Thai authorities.

“As a Cambodian, I cannot comprehend under any circumstance why Thai troops would use live ammunition on Cambodian civilians,” he concluded.
